High performance (at a reasonable price): The CONTEC PowerLoc
Golden autumn for the CONTEC Powerloc: Both leading German MTB magazines have rated our U-lock with the rating VERY GOOD and also as a price-performance recommendation! MountainBike and Bike had tested a large number of bicycle locks in terms of break-open security, features and price.
Purchase tip in the MountainBike 08/2022
Our CONTEC Powerloc was able to convince in the burglary test of 18 bicycle locks and received, along with the rating "VERY GOOD", the purchase tip in the U-locks.
Conclusion: "The lock is well-equipped with five keys and a security cable at a low price. The protection against opening is also convincing. No method was successful in the set time period. The frame bracket is a bit fiddly to operate."
Price-performance recommendation in the Bike 12/2022
The Bike tested over 16 different locks in two different categories - "city" and "road". Our CONTEC PowerLoc was the only bike lock to get a "VERY GOOD" grade with 50 points in the "road" category and was the winner when it comes to price and performance.
Conclusion:"Despite the fact that the very affordable Contec inspires little confidence with its thin bar, it easily withstands all attempts to break open and therefore receives a genuine purchase recommendation. The accessories are not be sneezed at: four keys, a light and a frame bracket. The bracket isn't very sturdy, is a bit awkward to install and quite fiddly to use. But the wide bracket even reaches around thicker posts. The plastic casing is not particularly durable and tears easily."
