The Latin word "via" means "way" and has been the namesake for our well-known pannier series for several years now. And now, we have renewed and expanded our CONTEC Via collection! You can expect practical bags for your everyday commute, stylish shopping basket bags and large-volume storage options for your multi-day trip by bike. Their special feature: their outer material is made from 100% recycled polyester!

Making of: Via
We didn't have to reinvent the wheel for the relaunch of our Via collection. After all, classics such as our expandable pannier rack bag or water-repellent single bag have been part of our accessories range since 2017. Three years later, in 2020, the bags were given their iconic name "Via" along with a new design. Nevertheless, we dedicated almost another two years to the project in order to get the best out of the existing bags and create more models. Now CONTEC Via has grown into an 11-piece collection that offers practical and stylish luggage solutions for your everyday (commuting) life, shopping and cycling trips.
Where we started
The foundation of our Via collection consists of our bestsellers; the Via.Back carrier bag and the Via.Tour single bag. Both models already work extremely well for riders like you, so we didn’t want to compromise either of them.
Rather, we have taken all feedback on board and decided on a few upgrades that enhance the tried and tested functions as well as bringing out new features. This is combined with a new design that focuses on minimalist accents and elegant details.
Where we ended up
With this approach, we have, for example, stabilised the expandable compartments of our new Via Explorer pannier with retractable shelves. In addition, there is now an entry-level version of the Via Commuter pannier to cover different price points. We have once again decided to include bags for all common luggage carrier systems (MIK or MIK 2.0, Racktime and AVS) in our range.
It takes several months from the initial idea to the final product, during which our team of six works intensively on design, function, price, packaging, marketing and so on. Always with one clear goal – keep it simple! Because for each of our products, we want to enrich your everyday life as a cyclist and not overload it.
Via bike bags
Day trip or weekend getaway? You decide! Our Via Daily and Via Weekender panniers offer you 16.5 litres or 33 litres of volume, depending on the version. Like all bags in the Via collection, the outer material is made from 100% recycled and water-repellent polyester. This keeps your luggage safely stowed away even on rainy tours.
For commuters...
Our pannier rack bags are compatible with the MIK 2.0, Racktime or AVS pannier rack system, depending on the variant. The entry-level Via Commuter version holds up to 11 litres and is equipped with practical extras such as side compartments, a shoulder strap, a rain cover and reflective elements - ideal for everyday commuting.
...and explorers
The Via Explorer version for trekkers offers even more space and numerous features. In addition to the basic functions, you can expect small special features such as the expandable side pockets and a total volume of up to 37 litres.
